Crews respond to Delaware Avenue fire Thursday night
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A fire broke out around 11:10 p.m. Thursday behind the Delaware Restaurant, 300 Delaware Avenue. According to Albany Police Chief Joseph Gregory, the fire started in the back of the building in a storage facility.
The City of Albany Fire Department responded to the fire around 11:13 p.m. According to Gregory, the fire was put out in about an hour around 12:26 a.m.
Gregory said crews attacked the fire in two ways. First crews entered through a driveway entrance behind the restaurant while another crew entered from the rear of the building.
The fire did not seem suspicious Gregory reported. He also said the fire was contained to just the storage facility and the next step is for city engineers to determine whether it is repairable or if it needs to be taken down.
According to the police department, fire investigators are actively working to determine the cause of the fire, but they won't have the information for a few days. The police chief said there were no injuries to report.
