Man convicted in fatal boat crash released from prison
LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The man convicted of killing an 8-year-old girl with his boat on Lake George is no longer in prison.
Alex West was under the influence in 2016 when the boat he was operating struck another boat on the lake and killed Charlotte McCue. West was found guilty of several charges in May 2017, including manslaughter, assault, and leaving the scene of an accident.
He was sentenced to five to 15 years in prison. His parole was granted at the end of 2024 but had been denied twice prior to that.
