Patrol car crashes in Mayfield on way to snowmobile accident
MAYFIELD, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Fulton County Sheriff's Office patrol car was totaled on Tuesday near Sunoco on Route 30 in Mayfield. Sheriff Richard Giardino said the deputy was responding to a snowmobile accident when the crash happened.
Giardino said the deputy was trying to pass a car when the car turned left into the patrol car. He added that the operator of the car that hit the deputy didn't see the lights or hear the sirens. The patrol car severed a power pole about 10 feet up.
The snowmobile accident happened on Tolmantown Road in Mayfield. The Sheriff's Office said the driver was riding alone when she went off the trail. She was alert on the scene before being airlifted to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Stay with NEWS10 as more information becomes available.
