ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- 34-year-old Benz Coleman from Colonie was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison in the conclusion of a drug trafficking case, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday. Coleman pleaded guilty in September.
In his guilty plea, Coleman confessed that in January 2024, he had over 3,000 fentanyl pills and nearly a half ounce of cocaine, all of which he intended to sell. He further admitted to having sold more than 2,400 additional fentanyl pills between November 2023 and January 2024.
Coleman was ordered to serve five years of probation following his release. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Belliss and was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Colonie Police Department.
