Jericho Drive-in and Twist Ice Cream opens for 2025 season
GLENMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Although some may view winter as too cold for ice cream, that hasn't stopped Twist Ice Cream at Jericho Drive-In from opening for the 2025 season. The ice cream stand opened on the second weekend of February and celebrated National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day.
Owner Lisa Chenette said they celebrated the national holiday a week late because they were in Florida. However, this is the typical time of year when the stand opens, regardless of the temperature.
Twist Ice Cream is open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. every day, and they just completed changing over to the regular menu. But with Valentine's Day this week, they have created the Sweetheart Sundae, which is Red Velvet soft serve topped with hot fudge, cream, cheese, frosting, brownie bites, whip, whipped cream, valentine sprinkles, and a cherry.
For anyone with a Valentine who loves ice cream, there's a $25 five-pack of jumbo cookie ice cream sandwiches. The five flavors are red velvet, white chocolate macadamia nut, chocolate chunk, dark chocolate with white chocolate chips, and sugar cookie.
Some of this year's new jumbo cookie ice cream sandwich flavors are sugar cookie with rainbow sprinkles, smores, cookies and creme, peanut butter cup, and original chocolate chip.
