66-count indictment accuses Hillsdale man of child sexual assault
HILLSDALE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Columbia County grand jury indicted a 77-year-old Hillsdale man on 66 counts of sexual assault on Friday. The Columbia County District Attorney's Office said Barry Thompson is accused of sexually assaulting multiple victims in 2011.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office arrested Thompson on Thursday after searching his home. Thompson owns and operates North Star Data from his home and was arraigned in Claverack Town Court.
Thompson is remanded to Columbia County Jail without bail and will be arraigned in Columbia County Court sometime next week. The county sheriff is asking anyone who may have been a victim to call Investigator Joshua Oakes at (518) 697-0193.
