Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve in Clifton Park closed due to aggressive coyote

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Town of Clifton Park announced the temporary closure of the Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve. Officials stated that an aggressive coyote has been reported in the vicinity in the last two days.
The Department of Environmental Conservation confirmed that Environmental Conservation Police Officers responded to the preserve on February 13 around 1 a.m. after receiving a report of someone being bitten in the leg by a coyote. The person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and rabies protocol.
Clifton Park Animal Control is working with the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and the DEC to locate the animal. The public is advised to avoid the surrounding areas until further notice.
