VT man found guilty of making homemade bomb
BENNINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10) -- A Vermont man has been found guilty of creating a homemade bomb and storing it in his Bennington home. Police said the bomb was discovered in February 2023 in the former home of 42-year-old Tyler Hayes.
Trial witnesses described how Hayes had been discussing and constructing bombs for months and had offered to trade a bomb for fentanyl. Others said Hayes told them he was "on the run" after the explosive had been found at his house.
Hayes was arrested in January 2024. A date for his sentencing has not been set.
