2 firefighters fall through floor in Wynantskill fire

WYNANTSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Authorities are currently investigating a fire that broke out in Wynantskill on Friday night, according to the Wynantskill Fire Department. The fire occurred at 68 Lakeshore Drive.

A passerby and several neighbors called 911 when the fire broke out, officials said. The homeowner had initially been reported to possibly still be inside the building, the fire department told NEWS10, but the individual arrived to the scene shortly after and confirmed that no one was inside.

According to the Wynantskill Fire Department, crews declared a mayday after two firefighters fell through the building floor. The firefighters were removed from the structure with no reported injuries, the fire chief said.

The fire is currently under investigation, the fire department told NEWS10.
