Catskill man accused of having over 2 oz of cocaine
CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Catskill man was arrested on Tuesday after a traffic stop on Main Street. Jonathan Alcantara, 41, is accused of running away while being interviewed and dropping a bag of pills in the process before being caught by the Greene County Sheriff's Office.
Alcantara was also accused of having over two ounces of cocaine at the time of the arrest. He was charged with the following:
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell
- Tampering with physical evidence
- Second-degree obstructing governmental administration
- Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Resisting arrest
- Vehicle and traffic law violation
The suspect was arraigned in Coxsackie Town Court and placed in the Greene County Jail without bail.
