Popular Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru vehicles recalled in New York State

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Lexus, Toyota, and Subaru are some of the most popular vehicles in New York State, according to data provided by open data sources from the state.

Certain Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing brands are being recalled due to a software issue, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru Solterra vehicles equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system, reads the recall. "A software error may cause the rearview camera to freeze or display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse."

Using open data available from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and cross-matching the cars affected in the recall, PIX11 News identified some of the most popular brands that may be recalled in the state.

PIX11 News reached out to Toyota, but they were not immediately available to comment.

Affected customers whose vehicles are affected by the recall should take their vehicles to the dealership, where their vehicles will be updated free of charge, according to the NHSTA.
