'Horrible human': MAGA fans have meltdown over promotion of openly gay Biden official
Donald Trump's supporters on the far right have a new enemy: a little-known ex-Interior Department official in President Joe Biden's administration who was recently promoted.
Fox News recently reported on the promotion of Tyler Cherry, a former Interior Department communications director for Biden's administration. The conservative network noted that Cherry is now serving as the associate communications director at the White House.
"A former Interior Department communications director in the Biden administration has been hired in a new role and will be working on communications inside the Biden White House, despite sparking controversy last year over social media posts attacking police, criticizing Republicans and supporting the anti-Israel movement," according to Fox News.

The outlet also included a photo of Cherry in a netted shirt covered with rose petals.
That same photo, and others of Cherry wearing clothing that is not considered traditionally appropriate for straight men, also made it to X, formerly called Twitter. On the social media platform, right-wingers complained about the promotion and insulted the official.
Aviva Klompas, the former head of speechwriting at Israel Mission to the UN, said, "This is Tyler Cherry. Tyler is the new White House Associate Communications Director," and included a pro-Palestine tweet from Cherry in 2014.
Internet personality Oli London complained that Cherry "identifies as Non-binary" as well as that Cherry "supports BLM."
@JSANCHEZ84_ wrote, "Meet Tyler Cherry, the new White House Associate Communications Director."
"Why does Biden always hire Gay or Trans? The world is laughing at us," the user added. "Thoughts?"
Cherry also weighed in on the renewed attacks.
"Past social media posts from when I was younger do not reflect my current views. Period," Cherry wrote. "I support this Administration's agenda - and will continue my communications work focused on our climate and environmental policies."
One user, Paul A. Szypula, responded by saying it's "too late to backpedal Tyler Cherry. You’ve been exposed as a horrible human who has no respect for law enforcement or decency. Resign."
