'Disgusting': J.D. Vance hits back at Jennifer Aniston for criticizing 'cat ladies' remark
Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) is picking a fight with actress and former "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston.
Aniston spoke out against Vance, the new running mate for former President Donald Trump, earlier in the week over comments that surfaced from an interview he had with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson in 2021 in which he complained that American politics was too controlled by "childless cat ladies" who had no personal stake in the future of the United States because they had no biological children.
"It's just a basic fact," said Vance at the time. "You look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC, the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we've turned our country over to people who don't really have a direct stake in it?"
Aniston lashed out over this attack on childless people, saying, "Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too."

In a new interview with Megyn Kelly that aired Friday, Vance reacted to this criticism with outrage.
“A Hollywood celebrity saying, ‘Oh, well, J.D. Vance, what if your daughter suffered fertility problems?’" said Vance. "Well, first of all, that's disgusting because my daughter is 2 years old and, second of all, if she had fertility problems, as I said in that speech, I would try everything I could to try to help her because I believe families and babies are a good thing.”
He went on to complain that his remarks from the Carlson interview were taken out of context, and he was motivated by the pressure he had seen his own wife face trying to balance her career and family.
Vance has quickly emerged as a constant source of controversy for Trump since being added to the GOP ticket, and some reports indicate Trump is already regretting his choice to pick him.
