'Disgusted': Ex-prosecutor blasts Trump over FBI's failure to probe 4,500 Kavanaugh tips
Imploring his followers to “never lose our capacity to be outraged and disgusted,” a former federal prosecutor fiercely attacked Donald Trump on Tuesday amid reports that the former president prevented the FBI from investigating Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“This may come as no surprise, but new reporting just revealed that Donald Trump and his White House henchman corrupted the investigation into Brett Kavanaugh when his nomination to the Supreme Court was pending confirmation,” Glenn Kirschner said in a YouTube video.
The comments came after Axios reported on a bombshell report by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) detailing the Trump White House’s efforts to control and constrain an FBI investigation into Kavanaugh in the lead-up to his nomination.
Kirschner became particularly fired up over reporting from Whitehouse’s yearslong investigation that found messages to the FBI’s citizen tip line seeking information on Kavanaugh’s background were forwarded directly to the White House and never looked into.

“At the time, many involved in the case – and those who submitted tips – complained that the bureau did not investigate leads it was given,” according to Axios.
“The 4,500 citizen tips that were provided to the FBI regarding Brett Kavanaugh’s suitability to be a Supreme Court justice – not only did they go uninvestigated – but they were handed directly to Donald Trump and his White House henchmen so he could make sure they went uninvestigated.
Kirschner added that he “yelled about this from the rooftops when the story first broke” and floated the question, “Don’t you have to wonder what’s in those 4,500 tips that Donald Trump might be able to hold over the head of Brett Kavanaugh?”
He said those who submitted tips took a risk and “had every right to expect” those tips would be followed up on and investigated.
“Let’s never lose our capacity to be outraged and disgusted by what Donald Trump and his corrupt and criminal assistance and administration members did the first time around," Kirschner said.
He added that the former president wanted Kavanaugh confirmed to “revoke women’s constitutional privacy rights” and urged his more than 800,000 channel followers to take their anger and frustration out at the polls.
