'Very, very nervous': Strategist says Dems are sweating latest polls
Democrats have grown "very, very nervous" about the election in recent weeks, pollster Doug Schoen told Fox News' Laura Ingraham on Thursday.
Schoen, a Democratic strategist who has become renowned for criticizing his own party on right-wing networks, said he doesn't believe Vice President Kamala Harris has a plan to beat former President Donald Trump on key issues.
"Doug, I want to ask you about my view that no matter how much supposed 'joy' she has in her campaign or how much she loves to cook or she, you know, goes on TikTok, and does podcasts, I mean the facts are, the facts in the end, you can't, you can't make up a new set of facts. The facts are what they are, and people are poorer than they were four years ago."
Notably, household wealth is up significantly since 2020 and some analyses have found incomes have risen faster than prices since President Joe Biden took office.

"Is that not the salient statistic that is going to determine the outcome of this election, ultimately?" Ingraham pressed him.
"Laura, the simple answer to your question is yes," said Schoen. "Ultimately, elections, particularly elections at times of high inflation, are about the economy. And if Trump continues to talk about the economy and gives it the emphasis he's given the southern border, it will only redound to his benefit."
"Look, Laura, you're right, the polling is all showing movement to Trump," said Schoen. "My Democratic friends are very, very nervous. They don't have a clear strategic idea and Harris herself appears to be flailing around. For the first time, the oddsmakers are giving a narrow advantage to Trump, not Harris, and I would say the momentum is with Trump and his candidacy in a way that we wouldn't have anticipated even a week, 10 days ago."
