Gregory Morales scheduled to face Jayvon Garnett in Rocha-Dominguez undercard
A clash between once-beaten prospects has been added to Friday’s Golden Boy Fight Night on DAZN card.
Featherweight Gregory Morales will square off against Jayvon Garnett of Cincinnati, Ohio. The 10-round bout will take place at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California and will precede the main event bout between welterweight contender Alexis Rocha and unbeaten Santiago Dominguez.
Both fights will stream live on DAZN (9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT).
Morales (16-1, 9 knockouts), who resides in San Antonio, Texas, defeated Ronal Ron by unanimous decision in his last bout on February 27. The win over Ron took place over six months after Morales stopped Ernesto Salcedo in the fifth round.
The 23-year-old has won his last three fights since losing by decision to unbeaten bantamweight prospect Katsuma Akitsugi in April 2022.
Morales has fought under the Golden Boy Promotions banner since January 2020. He made his pro debut at the age of 16 in July 2017 in Mexico.
Garnett (10-1, 5 KOs) has not fought in almost three years, which took place on a ShoBox telecast. Garnett lost a one-sided decision to featherweight contender Luis Nuñez.
Three months prior to the loss to Nuñez, the 29-year-old defeated once-beaten Jose Argel by unannmous decision.
Also on the card in Indio, junior middleweight Grant Flores (5-0, 4 KOs) of nearby Coachella will face Juan Meza (4-5, 3 KOs) of Los Angeles in a six-round bout.
The 19-year-old, who also resides in the Coachella Valley, just fought on June 27, also at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, knocking out Josias Gonzalez in the third round.
In featherweight action, Jorge Chavez (11-0, 8 KOs) of San Diego will square off against Mexico City’s Riku Kitani (8-2, 3 KOs) in a six-round bout.
Junior middleweight Fabian Guzman (4-0, 4 KOs) of Orange, California will face Corey Cook (2-1-1, 1 KO) and lightweight Juan Estrada, Jr. (2-0, 1 KOs) will square off against Salt Lake City’s Dyllon Cervantes Alvarado (3-2-1, 2 KOs).
Both fights are scheduled for four rounds.
