Ronald Acuna Jr. On Track to Start Monday
Atlanta Braves skipper Brian Snitker offered an update on Ronald Acuna Jr. after their series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday, a game in which Acuna Jr. came on to pinch-hit. Snitker noted that although Acuna Jr. had sat the entire series, he was in good enough shape to come in to pinch-hit. Snitker explained that had Acuna Jr. reached base, a runner would have replaced him on the base path. David O’Brien also confirmed that Acuna Jr. should be cleared to play Monday when the Braves kick off a three-game series against the New York Mets.

Acuna Jr. is raking to start the season. His .646 slugging percentage leads the majors and contributes to the third-best on-base plus slugging percentage at 1.042.
The Mets send Taijuan Walker to the mound in the series opener Monday night, and Acuna Jr. will be there to welcome him to Truist Park. Acuna Jr. is mashing to the tune of a 1.296 on-base plus slugging percentage with six home runs at home this season. He should slot back into the starting lineup without missing a beat.
