The Dodgers entered the season with arguably the most depth in baseball, but that depth is being tested at the moment. The team is already playing without Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager, and now Chris Taylor has been scratched Sunday vs. the Marlins. Taylor was initially slated to play second base on Sunday, but he’s seen time at second, shortstop, and all three outfield positions this season. Sheldon Neuse will take over at second base on Sunday and bat seventh in the Dodgers’ lineup.
The Dodgers pitching staff has also been tested by injuries this season. Dustin May, David Price, and Tony Gonsolin are all on the IL currently, which has pushed Jimmy Nelson into the rotation. He’ll take the mound vs. the Marlins, and he was out of the league last year. He’s been excellent out of the bullpen to start the year, pitching to a 3.00 ERA and 2.19 FIP over 14 innings, but he struggled to a 9.75 ERA as a starter in 2019.
Despite all their absences, the Dodgers are still listed as -148 favorites vs. the Marlins on FanDuel Sportsbook.
