LeBron James and Anthony Davis Questionable Sunday vs. Pelicans
The Lakers are in an interesting spot heading into Sunday’s season finale vs. the Pelicans. They can still move up to sixth in the Western Conference standings — and therefore avoid the dreaded play-in tournament — but they don’t control their own destiny. They would need a loss by the Blazers to have any shot of improving their playoff position, and the Blazers play at the same time as the Lakers on Sunday.
That said, health is still the Lakers No. 1 priority. James and Davis have both missed significant portions of the year due to injuries, and they need those players to be healthy to have a chance to repeat as NBA champions. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that both players are listed as questionable. Even if they have a chance to improve their seeding, it doesn’t mean anything if those players aren’t at full strength. Kyle Kuzma, Alex Caruso, Marc Gasol, Jared Dudley, and Alfonzo McKinnie are also probable, so make sure to monitor this situation for updates closer to tip-off.
The Lakers are currently listed as 7.5-point road favorites vs. the Pelicans on FanDuel Sportsbook.
