Real Housewives: Current & Former Cast Members Who Rock Vegan Diets
Veganism is a popular dietary option that has worked its way into the realm of The Real Housewives, and we have all of the Bravo reality stars who have now adopted this animal product-free lifestyle. From New York City to Beverly Hills, the Real Housewives franchise has hosted a variety of women with diverse diets and ways of life. While plenty of housewives have taken on carnivorous or vegetarian diets, there are also the Real Housewives stars who have taken on vegan lifestyles.
Despite the dozens of cast members that have starred on The Real Housewives, only a select few have been able to really commit to a vegan diet. Some have had relationships with vegans, like Bethenny Frankel's friend-turned-foe Carole Radziwill, who dated a vegan chef, Adam. There have also been a few stars that have successfully rocked vegan diets, even though all of them have broken some rules every once in a while. Here are the few Housewives stars that have been open about their vegan journeys.
Porsha Williams from The Real Housewives of Atlanta is the most prominent reality star that has embraced a vegan lifestyle publicly. Porsha's vegan journey began in November 2017, when she labeled herself as a "baby vegan." At the moment, the RHOA star is now completely dedicated to a vegan lifestyle and even threw a party for her Real Housewives co-stars full of vegan dishes. As Porsha estimated, she did eventually take a break from her vegan venture. By September 2020, however, Simon Guodabia's fiancé Porsha was back on the vegan track. Porsha explained that the source of her choosing a vegan diet is because she was shocked by the 2017 film What The Health. She is also trying to convince her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann to become vegan, as she has spoken about vegetarianism in the past.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna has also shared her experience as a vegan. When Lisa first joined RHOBH in 2014, the reality star described herself as a "dirty" vegan. Just like Porsha, Lisa is not too strict about her vegan diet, and allows herself to veer off of the animal product-free path from time to time. Lisa told People that she mostly eats plant-based products, but she does eat meat on occasion. Lisa hasn't given a recent update on her dietary journey, but she has likely maintained her vegan lifestyle overall.
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member and hat-line owner Robyn Dixon has been open about her experience as a vegan. Robyn first shared her interest in trying out a plant-based diet on January 31. Robyn tweeted that she had learned about veganism from Dr. Neal Barnard, claiming that she was excited to give it a try. By July 2018, Robyn was enthusiastic about the effects that eating vegan had on her. During the RHOP cast trip to Cannes, France, Robyn made an Instagram post sharing her pride in the way that her body looks after committing to veganism. Robyn hasn't made any more updates on that front, but she has successfully shared the benefits of her vegan diet for audiences of The Real Housewives.
