Princess Charlotte No Longer Likes This One Sport & It Shows How Much She’s Growing Up

0

It’s totally normal for a kid’s interest to fade in certain activities and sports over the years, and that is exactly what happened with Princess Charlotte, 10. Kate Middleton and Prince William’s eldest daughter no longer enjoys this one sport she used to play with her family, and we totally get why.

On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales visited schoolgirls at Wakefield Trinity, who were playing rugby. “She does loads of sport but not rugby,” Middleton told the girls about Charlotte, per Hello!

It’s hard to say if Charlotte just isn’t interested in rugby, or if she simply isn’t playing it as her official sport at school. After all, earlier this month, Middleton revealed that Charlotte plays with her at home.

The Princess of Wales hosted the World Cup-winning Red Roses England ladies’ rugby team at Windsor Castle in January, where she chatted about playing rugby at home with Charlotte and her sons Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 7.

“Charlotte is playing rugby but at home with the family, so she isn’t yet at school,” Middleton revealed. “Rugby is so accessible; Louis is playing touch rugby and it’s such a great game. Actually, they shouldn’t necessarily need to push boys and girls in particular sports too early.”

“Obviously as they get physically stronger – George now, if we play at home, I do not want to get tackled by George! But, up to a certain age I think it’s great,” Middleton added.

Princess Charlotte is also very competitive. After Middleton visited the Maidenhead Rugby Club in June 2023, the President of the Rugby Football Union Nigel Gillingham opened up about Middleton’s athletic interests. “She regularly plays rugby in the back garden with the children – she plays all sports with them,” Gillingham said, per PEOPLE. “Apparently, Charlotte is very much in her mold – very competitive as well,” he added.

Charlotte also plays netball, does gymnastics, has taken ballet lessons, and has gone to sporting events, including Wimbledon, with her parents. Even if she doesn’t like rugby anymore, it’s clear that she’s not giving up sports any time soon.
