Ministry of Internal Affairs is investigating issuance of IINs abroad
Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation following announcements about issuing Individual Identification Number (IIN) to foreigners outside of Kazakhstan. This is stated in the response of the Migration Service Committee to a parliamentary inquiry from the Ak Zhol party.
Earlier, the party deputies sent a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to issue Kazakhstan IINs to foreign citizens, including those without a residence in Kazakhstan.
In its response, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the agency had begun an investigation into this fact.
"During monitoring of social networks, the Ministry of Internal Affairs also encounters announcements and various services about the possibility of obtaining an IIN outside the Republic of Kazakhstan, mainly for Russian citizens. On this fact, verification measures are being carried out in accordance with the legislation on operational-search activities," the response to the request says.
Earlier it became known that the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Russia has temporarily suspended the issue of IIN to foreign citizens.
