Oil spill containment is underway at Atyrau Refinery

Tengrinews.kz - An oil spill is being contained at the Atyrau Oil Refinery after a video of the incident surfaced online.
According to the press service of KazMunayGas, a leak was detected in a pipeline transferring commercial gasoline components at tank farm No. 33. The responsible services promptly took measures to disconnect the pipeline from the tank.


"Currently, refinery staff are working to mitigate the aftermath of the incident. The event will not affect the volume of oil product shipments. The refinery continues to operate as normal," the press service stated.
