Tokayev received new Chinese ambassador

Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received Han Chunlin, the newly appointed Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan, according to Akorda's press service.
The President emphasized that Kazakhstan places a high priority on deepening its comprehensive strategic partnership with China.

Tokayev noted that Ambassador Han Chunlin’s diplomatic mission coincides with an active period of bilateral relations and reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to further strengthening cooperation with China.

"The ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping and highlighted that thanks to the active political dialogue at the highest level the eternal strategic partnership between the two countries has reached an unprecedented level. Han Chunlin assured Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that he will make every effort to maintain the strong momentum in relations and further strengthen the multifaceted ties between Kazakhstan and China," the statement reads.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed key issues on the bilateral agenda, including prospects for trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
Tokayev also received the credentials of new ambassadors from nine countries: Cyprus, Japan, China, Austria, Burkina Faso, Laos, New Zealand, Denmark, and Slovenia.

Earlier, President Tokayev sent a congratulatory telegram to Donald Trump on his inauguration.
