New mobile operator may never appear in Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz - Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Askhat Orazbek commented on the likelihood of a new, fourth mobile operator appearing in Kazakhstan.
According to him, the regulator has no specific plans yet.
"I only spoke about the potential possibility that there is such a possibility. But the regulator has no plans to date to bring a fourth mobile operator to the market," Orazbek said at a briefing in the Senate.
The vice minister also explained this position.
"If the three operators that are operating today compete effectively enough in the market, then we do not see the need to increase additional competition," he added.
