Cory Booker Is ‘Very Psyched’ to Get Married
Senator Cory Booker really, really wants to get married. The New Jersey politician announced his engagement to Alexis Lewis at the beginning of September, and now he’s saying that they’ll be husband and wife by the end of the year. Quick turnaround! Perhaps the government shutdown has given him more time to interview DJs.
Booker revealed his wedding plans on an episode of the I’ve Had It podcast, telling hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan that the thing he’s had it with is “being single.” “Being single is not fun, especially when you’re trying to date,” Booker said. “And as a United States senator, it’s been a difficult, challenging time. So I’ve had it with that, and I’m very psyched that I’m getting married.”
“We’re going to do it before the end of the year quick. We don’t want to wait long,” Booker continued. “We both want to get married quick and we’re both hoping to have kids at some point sometime soon. You know, there’s a lot to do, and time is of the essence.”
What is more romantic than a man talking about your upcoming marriage like it’s a pressing work deadline? Booker was a little better-spoken in their engagement announcement, where he wrote, “I am savoring the soul-affirming wonder of everyday life with my partner, best friend, and now my fiancée.” He is now done savoring and is ready to hustle.
