All the NYC Celebrities Pulling Up to the Polls
Election Day is almost over, and for the past week and change, people across the boroughs have been getting out the vote. In the months leading up to the city’s tense mayoral race, we’ve seen a lot of high-profile folks throw their weight behind the democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani, from astrologer Chani Nicholas and actor Mark Ruffalo to Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter Ella Emhoff and Senator Bernie Sanders — and today, we’ve got our eye on all the local celebrities heading to the polls.
Of course, there is Amy Schumer, who posted a selfie to her Instagram Story with a “Vote by Mail” sticker and the phrase “rhymes with duomo.” But on a brighter note, there are lots of other NYC celebrities proudly exercising their right to vote — and showing off their stickers — this November.
Rama Duwaji
Mamdani’s wife, an animator who has become a celebrity in her own right, posted a selfie with her voting sticker to her Instagram Story this morning, writing, “Let’s go NYC <3.” I think we can guess who she voted for.
Bowen Yang
The comedian and Wicked actor wore a Zohran shirt to vote early in Brooklyn.
Cynthia Nixon
The Sex and the City actress posted a selfie video on her way back from early voting on Sunday. “Do you remember how freaked out everyone was about Obama and that he didn’t have enough experience or that he was like a Black separatist or whatever that crap was they were putting out?” she said. “This is a moment like that. [Mamdani] is a brilliant new young candidate who is gonna take this city to a place we have needed to go for so long.”
Lupita Nyong’o
The Oscar winner posted a 14-slide Instagram post in support of Mamdani, sharing that she’s known him for 20 years and worked with him on the 2016 movie Queen of Katwe, which was directed by his mother. (Mamdani was an assistant director.) On top of noting that she’d voted for her old friend, she wrote that she believed Mamdani “possesses the personality, skills, and temperament to be an excellent mayor of New York City.”
Emily Ratajkowski
The model and actress reposted a selfie video she filmed with Mamdani during the primary, in which she wore a “Hot Girls for Zohran” T-shirt. “Today is the day folks,” she wrote Tuesday. “Let’s make this man our mayor.”

Mandy Patinkin
The Tony Award–winning Broadway actor and his wife, actress Kathryn Grody, posted a video with Mamdani during the early-voting period. “We are going to win this because we have this extraordinary human being who is going to lead our city, and eventually, if we’re really thinking, our nation and the world, to a better, safer, all-inclusive existence,” Patinkin said.
Mary Beth Barone
After hosting Mamdani for a sit-down interview earlier this year, the Overcompensating actress and comedian reshared her “Voter Cheat Sheet for Hot People.”

“I voted for Mamdani. I like him. He was the first to jump on affordability and the rest of the country kind of followed him. This city needs to get more affordable for people.”
The comedian and former Minnesota senator reportedly showed up in person on Tuesday to cast his vote for Mamdani.
Sofia Coppola and Romy Mars
The 18-year-old queen of TikTok posted a video of her mom at the polls, set to a “Hollaback Girl” version of Mamdani spelling his own name. “#Duh,” she wrote over the video.
