Tara Reid Says She Was Drugged at a Hotel Bar
On Sunday, Tara Reid was hospitalized after allegedly being drugged at a hotel bar just outside of Chicago. In a video published by TMZ, Reid could be seen struggling to remain upright in a wheelchair, at one point sliding halfway out of it to the floor while being transported through what appears to be the hotel lobby. Paramedics brought her to the hospital on a stretcher.
A spokesperson for Reid told The Cut that the actor was drugged after leaving her drink unsupervised. Per TMZ, Reid said she checked into the Hilton Doubletree in Rosemont, Illinois, late Saturday night and then went to the hotel bar. After ordering a glass of wine, she said, she went outside to smoke a cigarette, and when she came back, there was a napkin placed over her drink she said she hadn’t put there. She allegedly took off the napkin and drank from the glass and doesn’t remember anything after that before waking up in the hospital.
It’s unclear if Reid plans to press charges after the incident — local Rosemont police confirmed to The Cut that they responded to an ambulance call at the hotel that night, but said “no additional reports have been filed.” Reid’s publicist said she’d filed a report with the Chicago Police Department.
Reid is now “back home and doing the best she can to recover and move on,” according to her publicist. “She hopes what happened to her serves as a warning to others not to leave their drinks as this could have happened to anyone.”
