WATCH: Karoline Leavitt Goes Off on Lindsey Halligan Ruling Dismissing Comey and Letitia James Cases, Confirms Appeal Incoming – “James Comey Should Pump the Brakes on His Victory Lap!”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday responded to the dismissal of criminal cases against James Comey and Letitia James by a far-left Judge on the basis of US Attorney Lindsey Halligan’s appointment.
A grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia indicted former FBI Director James Comey in September. He was indicted on two counts – false statements and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.
James Comey filed a motion to dismiss his federal criminal case, claiming “vindictive prosecution.”
New York Attorney General Letitia James was also indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia last month.
Judge Cameron McGowan Currie, a Clinton appointee, ruled that US Attorney Lindsey Halligan was invalidly appointed.
Leavitt responded to the “unprecedented action” by the Clinton judge, noting that Halligan is “extremely qualified” and “legally appointed.”
“The Department of Justice will be appealing this in very short order,” she added.
“So, maybe James Comey should pump the brakes on his victory lap.”

MacCallum: What can we expect will happen next, Karoline?
Leavitt: Well, what I will say, is that everybody knows that James Comey lied to Congress. It’s as clear as day, and this judge took an unprecedented action to throw these cases out to shield James Comey and Letitia James from accountability based on a technical ruling, and the administration disagrees with that technical ruling.
We believe the attorney in this case, Lindsay Halligan, is not only extremely qualified for this position, but she was, in fact, legally appointed, and I know the Department of Justice will be appealing this in very short order, so maybe James Comey should pump the brakes on his victory lap.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Judge Cameron McGowan Currie granted a motion to dismiss Halligan, claiming her appointment and indictments were “unlawful exercises of executive power and are hereby set aside.“
