Journalist Dean Jones has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur could still look at Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo despite heavy links with Radu Dragusin.
Dragusin is already thought to have agreed personal terms with Spurs ahead of a switch to the Premier League side, with some sources suggesting that the Lilywhites could strike a deal with Genoa for the player very soon (Fabrizio Romano).
Football Insider claimed on Thursday that Spurs are very confident of getting the Romanian international through the door after holding a new round of talks with the Serie A side.
Before Spurs really stepped up their pursuit of Dragusin over the last week and a half, various outlets suggested that Adarabioyo was another name who was on Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist (The Athletic).
According to various updates over the last few weeks, the 26-year-old has no intention of signing a new deal at Craven Cottage and is keen on leaving the West London club on a free transfer when his contract runs out next summer (Tom Barclay).
Spurs could come calling for Adarabioyo still
Jones has now said that we cannot rule out the possibility of Tottenham making a move for Adarabioyo before the window closes.
He explained that the road might be clear for Postecoglou’s men to make their approach since Monaco have now ended their interest in the Fulham star.
The journalist said on Ranks FC Ultras Podcast: “You mention Tosin and rumours around him going quiet. I do wonder if part of that is Monaco signing Kehrer, there aren’t many places for him to end up this January.
“Maybe Tottenham could come in for him or something like that, but from a Fulham perspective maybe it helps that Kehrer is going to Monaco, so hopefully that makes it more difficult for Tosin to go.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not think there is any chance that Tottenham will sign another right-footed centre-back this month after their capture of Dragusin even if Eric Dier departs as expected.
In fact, given how well Ben Davies has deputised for Micky Van de Ven, Postecoglou will likely put off any more defensive additions until next summer.
