After helping his team to a 3-1 win against Crystal Palace this weekend, Cristian Romero has been named in the WhoScored team of the week for the Premier League.
Tottenham had to come from behind to get all three points in their latest game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Crystal Palace taking the lead in the second half through an Eberechi Eze free-kick.
Spurs hit back with the equaliser coming from Timo Werner, who scored his first goal for the club. And then, just three minutes later, Cristian Romero headed home to give the Lilywhites the lead, before Heung-min Son completed the scoring.
The goal for Romero, which came from a glorious ball into the box by James Maddison, truly changed the game.
However, it is Romero’s display at the back which also caught the eye, with the centre-half typically solid, reading the game well, and helping transition the flow of play from defene to attack with passes breaking through the lines.

Cristian Romero makes the team of the week
Clearly, Romero’s performance was one of the best of the week, as the Spurs man has been named in WhoScored’s Premier League XI for the weekend.
Romero picked up a rating of 7.74 out of 10, to partner Ibrahima Konate in the heart of defence. He is joined by Alphonse Areola in goal, and Arsenal pair Ben White and Jakub Kiwior in the full-back roles.
Spurs fans will not be happy to see plenty of their North London rivals in the team, actually. Declan Rice, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz also made it into the XI, after Arsenal’s demolition job over Sheffield United on Monday night.
Spurs Web Opinion
I thought Romero was outstanding against Palace, and the goal was just the icing on the cake. Four goals this season, too, and hopefully more to come.
