Speaking to the press after his side secured a comfortable win over Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou commented on Dejan Kulusevski’s performance as the Swede bagged two goals in a 3-0 victory.
The final day of the Premier League season threw up no shocks or surprises for Tottenham this afternoon, as they fired their way to an all-important win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Ange Postecoglou‘s men only needed a point to be certain of their final placing in the table and to guarantee Europa League football for next year but, as expected, Spurs went for the jugular against the Blades.
Dejan Kulusevski gave Spurs the lead after 14 minutes, but it wasn’t until the hour mark, and an explosive finish from Pedro Porro, that the Lilywhites really killed off the game. Kulusevski then added another for Spurs five minutes later to end the contest.
The Swede came close on a couple of other occasions but came up against an inspired performance by Blades keeper Wes Foderingham.
Dejan Kulusevski got his reward for hard work
In his post-match press conference, Postecoglou was asked about the performance of Dejan Kulusevski, and the Spurs boss praised the Swedish star for his input today.
He said (via Football.London): “I thought Deki was good. He’s worked awfully hard this year without a lot of reward in the front third.
“We thought playing him through middle today would help us with his mobility and ability to run in behind. He did well.
“He always works hard but it’s that sort of final third where we need him to get rewards and he got them today so he did well.”
The players will now fly to Australia ahead of Tuesday’s post-season friendly against Newcastle United.

Kulusevski really needed a game like that to end the season on a high, as he’s been fairly poor for the last couple of months.
Those two goals today will do him a world of good and will help get the fans off his back a bit.
