Spurs are behind in the race for Giovanni Leoni
The report claims that Spurs are among the clubs thinking about making a move for Leoni over the coming weeks and months, alongside Torino, Napoli, Inter Milan and Atalanta.
Unfortunately, it is said that the Serie A clubs are currently leading the race, with Spurs behind them, but a fierce race could ensue for the Sampdoria youngster.
Torino in particular are attempting to get a deal done quickly before any of their rivals can pounce, but you would assume that Sampdoria will be keen on a bidding war this summer.

Spurs have been linked with Leoni this month
Spurs were first linked with a move for Leoni earlier this month when Il Secolo XIX (as relayed by SampNews24) said the Lilywhites could race against the likes of Torino, Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli for the 17-year-old.
Fabrizio Romano then confirmed the interest from the North London side, stating: “Italian talented centre-back Giovanni Leoni (2006) will sign a new deal at Sampdoria until June 2027. Samp triggered €1.5m buy option.
“Leoni could be sold this summer with Inter, AS Monaco, Tottenham tracking him. Samp want a €4m fee and keeping him on loan until 2025.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
It sounds like Giovanni Leoni isn’t going to go for more than £5m or so if he does transfer this summer. So, it will likely come down to where he wants to go above all else.
Spurs have had a lot of success in buying players and loaning them back to their original club, so that could be a good way of winning the race.
