Postecoglou explains why he’s ‘comfortable’ with slow Spurs transfer activity
Tottenham Hotspur have big plans for the summer, but have only been able to make one new signing so far. Ange Postecoglou isn’t concerned, though.
Postecoglou expects more signings at Spurs
It seems Postecoglou is in no rush to get new signings across the line this summer, and is happy with the new players he has in his squad already.
Speaking to the press (via Football.London) about Tottenham‘s transfer activity, Postecoglou said: “Like I said, nothing’s really changed, I’m comfortable. We’ve got a strategy in place about what we want to do.
“I’m really happy with the two lads we’ve brought in, both obviously very talented but more importantly really ambitious. They’re not here to ease their way in. They want to play and I think that’s great.
“They’ve brought a good energy to the group and no doubt there will be a couple more additions but I’m comfortable with where we’re at.”
What’s new at Spurs?
Archie Gray is the only new permanent signing the club has made so far this summer, but Postecoglou also has Timo Werner on loan for another year, and Lucas Bergvall has arrived after signing in January.
Postecoglou has already spoken candidly about how excited he is to have the two youngsters on board, stating Bergvall has been eager to join up with the squad since the start of the year, and revealing how happy he was that Spurs managed to secure the signing of Gray (SpursPlay).
Werner, meanwhile, did enough in his six-month loan spell last term to secure an extension almost as soon as the season came to an end.
Spurs Web Opinion
Obviously, as fans, we are desperate to see the squad transformed as soon as possible, but we have to be patient if we want the right players to come in.
There are still many weeks to go before the transfer deadline, and I’m sure the club is working on the best deals possible.
