Postecoglou has grand aims for Tottenham this season
Ahead of his second season in charge of Spurs, Postecoglou has not been shy of admitting that he has grand ambitions.
The Australian pointed out before the start of the campaign that his teams tend to win something in his second season in charge (Sky Sports) while he also declared his intention to find ways to catch the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal (Men in Blazers).

However, Postecoglou is confident that the foundations have been laid at Spurs for something special, insisting that his side will look to compete in every competition this campaign.
The 58-year-old wrote in his pre-match column ahead of the Everton match in the matchday programme (volume 117 – issue 02 – page 6): “We’re excited about what lies ahead over the next nine months. I go into every season with the same target of aiming to be successful in every competition we’re involved in, and this campaign is no different.
“The foundation of that has to be improvement – in terms of our football and consistency compared to last year. We had some really good moments last season and built a platform for becoming the team we want to be. That will allow us to look to achieve something special, which is what everyone at the Club craves.
“Over the summer we have strengthened the squad with the arrivals of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Dominic Solanke and, most recently, Wilson Odobert – along with Timo Werner rejoining us on loan for the season. I’m delighted to have them on board as part of a young, talented group of players who have a real hunger to help take this Club to the next level.”
