Alasdair Gold suggests Spurs could yet sign more players this summer
Tottenham Hotspur have already spent rather heavily this summer and acquired some top talent in areas where they desperately needed reinforcements. But, according to Alasdair Gold, we could still see another signing before the transfer window closes.
If the opportunity arises for Spurs
Spurs started the summer relatively slowly, with Archie Gray the only new permanent signing at the club through June and July.
However, swift moves for Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert have given fans cause for celebration of late, and it now feels as though Ange Postecoglou‘s squad is in a much stronger place than it was a few months ago.
Now, with just days left of the transfer window, it is unclear whether Spurs will make another signing or be done with their business.
But, Gold has hinted there could still be some movement if a suitable opportunity presents itself in the next few days.
On his YouTube channel, he said: “I just still feel that they’ll scour for some. If any of the players on their original list are available, also anyone that they had on their list that they thought would not be on the market, suddenly comes on the market.”
What else do Spurs need?
One player Spurs have been linked with all summer is Eberechi Eze. However, it appears Crystal Palace are determined to hang onto the playmaker now having lost a lot of players already and it is thought any buying club would have to pay ‘silly money’ for the England international (Last Word on Spurs).
Meanwhile, a full-back and a central midfielder are thought to be high on Tottenham’s shopping list, though exactly how urgently they want to fill those positions is unknown.
Spurs Web Opinion
I wouldn’t say we absolutely need to sign anyone else this summer, but I certainly wouldn’t complain if we signed someone who can cover at left-back.
A strong number 6 would also be good, but again not necessarily essential right now.
