Postecoglou reveals how Yang Min-hyeok’s first days at Spurs have gone
Ange Postecoglou has shed some light on the recent arrival of South Korean forward Yang Min-hyeok at Tottenham Hotspur the youngster seems to be settling in well as he waits to be registered at the start of the new year.
Yang Min-hyeok’s arrival at Tottenham
Earlier this month, reports indicated that Tottenham Hotspur were preparing to bring Yang Min-hyeok to England in the week leading up to Christmas.
The timing of his arrival suggests that Tottenham are setting the stage for the youngster to make an impact on the first team during the second half of the season.
The Lilywhites’ plan appears to be one of preparation, with Yang’s move set to allow him to settle in before being officially registered to play on January 1st.
This early arrival is a strategy used successfully by Postecoglou during his time at Celtic, particularly with his Japanese and Korean signings, ensuring they have time to adjust both on and off the pitch.

In his recent press conference, Postecoglou provided insight into how Yang has begun to integrate into the team and the club.
With a couple of weeks still to go before he can officially train, the young forward has already begun adjusting to life in London, taking English lessons to aid his communication with teammates and staff.
Speaking to football.london, he said: “Yeah he has been in the building the last couple of days sort of having a good look around.
“Obviously we can’t register him until January 1st so he won’t train with us but I always feel it’s good, I had this experience at Celtic with the Asian lads we brought in, the Japanese and Korean boys, bringing them in before Christmas which allows them to settle in, especially off the field.
“That way by the time we get to register them in a couple of weeks they are already settled and can train fully. It’s good to see him around. He has been doing some English lessons which is great, he’s already sort of conversing and it’s great to have him in the building.”
Positive signs for Tottenham and Yang’s development
Yang Min-hyeok’s early arrival is undoubtedly a promising sign for Tottenham, particularly at a time when injuries have left them needing cover on the wings.
Although key players are now beginning to return to fitness, the teenager’s presence could provide an additional option as the season progresses.
However, given Tottenham’s depth in attacking options and the competition for minutes, it is likely that Yang will see limited game time in the immediate future.
I think that this, may not be a negative, as the next six months could serve as a crucial learning period for the 18-year-old, allowing him to adapt to the physical demands and tactical nuances of the Premier League without undue pressure.
