Pedro Porro says he is even happier at Spurs than when he first joined
Pedro Porro confesses that he is now enjoying his football much more than he did when he first made the switch to the North London club.
Spurs defender recovered impressively after poor start
Pedro Porro struggled in his first six months at Spurs after making a big-money switch from Sporting Libson back in January of 2022.
The Spaniard’s defending was seriously questioned, with some even doubting if he had what it takes to make it in the Premier League.
However, the right-back is a player transformed since Ange Postecoglou‘s arrival at N17, having more goal contributions to his name than any other defender in the division since the start of last season.
Pedro Porro admits he is now loving life at Spurs
Porro has been chatting with the Portuguese media about life at Tottenham and the Spain international confessed that things are now a lot rosier for him than it was when he first arrived.
He told Portugal’s Sport TV(as relayed by O Jogo): “It’s very good for me, others don’t think so. I feel happier than when I arrived and that shows on the pitch.”
The Tottenham man gave the interview following the win against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup, where he locked horns with the side managed by his former boss, Ruben Amorim.
When asked about Amorim taking over at Old Trafford, Porro said: “He was part of my career, I spent three years with him. I’m happy for him because he deserves a lot of good things.”
Porro has let his high standards slip this season
Porro was arguably Tottenham’s most consistent performer last season, but he has taken his eye off the ball a bit this campaign.
Perhaps, it is a case of the 25-year-old resting on his laurels a bit or maybe he has been distracted by the transfer rumours about him.
Either way, Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that the right-back returns to his best soon as he is a formidable weapon for Spurs when he is fully firing.
