Tottenham fans will be excited by latest Fabrizio Romano transfer update
Tottenham need multiple signings in January to steady the course of their season. The club started business quickly this week and have already confirmed their first transfer through the door.
Tottenham are looking for players to ease injury crisis
Tottenham Hotspur were once again without 9 first team players against Newcastle. One of these was Rodrigo Bentancur’s one-match suspension and four others are expected to return across January, the two soonest being Richarlison and Mikey Moore.
However, some injuries, like Guglielmo Vicario’s fractured ankle, will mean he is not set to return until deeper into February. Destiny Udogie is reportedly on a similar timeline.
While Tottenham do have some cover in the form of Fraser Forster or Djed Spence, the January transfer window is an opportunity to support the squad and provide depth in these positions which need reinforcement.
The confirmation of Spurs signing 21-year-old goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky shows they are firmly committed to this endeavour.
Fabrizio Romano suggests more transfers for Tottenham
Posting on X, Fabrizio Romano confirmed details of the deal for Antonin Kinsky and teed up how the rest of January may look.
“Tottenham completed all the documents for the first 2025 signing, Antonin Kinsky. 2003-born goalkeeper will join from Slavia Prague for a fee in excess of £10m, contract now also completed.
“More players are being targeted by Spurs for upcoming days/weeks.”
Efficiency is key with Tottenham needing the right transfers, now
Going into another transfer window with Tottenham’s Johan Lange running operations, it is clear that he likes to keep his cards close to his chest.
Fabrizio Romano’s statement feels vague because information around deals for Tottenham do not seem to reach the public until an agreement has been secured.
Tottenham certainly need to continue business in this swift and assertive manner with key fixtures on the horizon in the Premier League, Carabao Cup and Europa League.
A forward, left-back and centre-back are still high up on Spurs’ list of priorities and Ange Postecoglou will be hoping he will be getting to work with these new players sooner rather than later.
