Juventus offer Tottenham the chance to sign midfielder on loan
Are Spurs looking for a new number six?
Based on reports over recent days, it would appear that Tottenham are not just looking for additions in their defence and their forward line but are also in the market for a new number six.
It has been revealed by some sources that the Lilywhites have had an offer turned down by Palmeiras for Colombia star Richard Rios.
Now, it has emerged that the North London club have been offered the chance to sign one of their former midfield targets on loan.
Juventus man offered to Spurs
Since joining Juve in a £42m deal from Aston Villa in the summer, Douglas Luiz has struggled for game time and has not covered himself in glory when opportunities have come his way.
It has now been claimed by TBR Football that the Brazilian may be set for a quick return to the Premier League, with Spurs being offered the chance to sign him.
The outlet adds that his former club Villa are also exploring the possibility of re-signing the player they let go six months ago.
Additionally, the defensive midfielder has also been offered to many of his other previous admirers, including Arsenal and Manchester City.
Juventus’ stance on Douglas Luiz revealed
The report states that previously, Bianconeri boss Thiago Motta was determined to improve Luiz, but he has now changed his mind, with the midfielder no longer part of his plans.
The Serie A giants are looking to actively offload the 26-year-old and are seeking a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
However, the publication adds that Juve are aware that they are ‘unlikely’ to be able to strike such an agreement this month.
