One of Tottenham’s most highly rated academy graduates is reportedly set to complete a loan move to a Scottish Premier League over the coming days.
Alfie Dorrington has become a forgotten Tottenham man
Rewind 12 months and Alfie Dorrington was seen by many at Hotspur Way as one of the best young talents breaking through at the club.
However, while the likes of Alfie Devine, Jamie Donley, Josh Keeley, George Abbott and others have done well on loan, the centre-back has become a bit of a forgotten man, owing to the successive hamstring injuries that he has suffered.
The 19-year-old, who was a key member of the Spurs Under-21 side that won the Premier League 2 title last season, has been restricted to just four appearances in the competition this season.

However, despite his injury woes of late, Dorrington was handed his senior debut in the win over Southampton last month, which is perhaps a sign that Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff think highly of him.
John Wenham, who regularly breaks news regarding Tottenham’s youth sides on his social media platform, Lilywhite Rose, has now revealed that Dorrington will join Scottish side Aberdeen on loan for the rest of the season.
If the teenager completes the move, he will get a chance to show the coaches at Spurs that he can cope with the demands of senior football.
Alfie Dorrington needs to impress at Tottenham
While Dorrington’s talent is clear for all to see, his pathway to the first-team at Tottenham is far from straightforward at the moment.
In Ashley Phillips and Luka Vuskovic, Spurs have two other teenage centre-backs who are already knocking on the door, and both those players are further along in their development, having played at the senior level for two years.
Dorrington will know that he has to impress out on loan if he is to have any chance of forcing himself into the first-team equation at Tottenham next season.
