Departed Tottenham player says he is better than Dominic Solanke
One departed Tottenham striker believes that he is better than Dominic Solanke but not quite at the level of Harry Kane.
Troy Parrott has exploded after leaving Tottenham
Troy Parrott did not have the smoothest of starts to the season at AZ Alkmaar after joining the Eredivisie club from Spurs in the summer.
However, he has been on fire over the last few months and now has 10 goals to his name in 17 league appearances, which puts him in second place in the race for the Golden Boot in the Netherlands.
The Spurs academy graduate’s talent has never been in doubt, with some even likening him to Harry Kane in the past, and the youngster finally seems to be fulfilling his potential.
Parrott rates himself against Dominic Solanke
The Alkmaar striker took part in the popular ‘would you rather’ game where he was asked to compare himself to some of the best strikers in the world.
The former Tottenham man is certainly not a player who is lacking in confidence, putting himself ahead of Solanke as well as his England teammate Ollie Watkins.
Watch how Parrott rated himself against other strikers in an interview with ESPN Netherlands:
Troy Parrott technically up there with the best
There has never been any doubt that Parrott is technically gifted as demonstrated by his ability to drop deep and play incisive passes. Those are the attributes that got people to compare him to Kane.
However, there are big question marks over Parrott physically as he does not have the pace, engine or arguably even the strength to be a Premier League regular.
That could change over the coming years as the 22-year-old continues to develop into a finished product.
