Tottenham offered three forwards in pursuit of attacking reinforcements
Tottenham’s well-reported attempts at signing Randal Kolo Muani may have failed, but Spurs still have the opportunity to sign some other attacking targets.
Tottenham cannot lead from the front without attacking depth
The return of Richarlison may provide Dominic Solanke with some desperately needed rotation. However, Tottenham seem to be operating a one-in, one-out policy regarding injuries as Timo Werner damaged his hamstring against Tamworth.
Despite Tottenham’s caution in bringing Richarlison back slowly, there are concerns that he may not always be available.
Spurs reportedly wanted to loan Randal Kolo Muani from PSG, however, it appears as if he is set to join Juventus instead. Tottenham are looking for cover across the front three positions and need depth to play Ange Postecoglou‘s intense brand of pressing football.
Spurs may stay in Ligue 1 to find their attacking targets
According to GIVEMESPORT, the agents of Lille’s Jonathan David, Lyon’s Rayan Cherki and Nice’s Evann Guessand have all offered Tottenham the opportunity to bid for their players.
David is in the last 6 months of his contract and is admired by many of the best clubs in Europe. As primarily a centre forward, he does not possess the positional versatility that some of the other candidates do, but he is a player of quality who would compete with Solanke rather than just rotate.
Cherki is a unique talent capable of playing on either wing or attacking midfield. He is the type of maverick dribbler and chance creator that Spurs need out wide, but has failed to garner the attention of top clubs due to reported ‘attitude problems’.
Evann Guessand covers Tottenham’s requirement of needing a player who can provide depth on the right and centre forward. With 8 goals and 4 assists in all competitions, his attacking returns would be a needed addition to Spurs’ first team.
Whoever Spurs sign, they need to hit the ground running
Each of the three named players profile completely differently but arguably could aid the squad in their own ways. It benefits Tottenham to have a range of options to pursue, but they cannot afford an extended period of adjustment for any new signing.
Antonin Kinsky has boosted the team by adding quality straight away. With two important games in the Europa League before the squad list can be changed, any new signing must be able to compete in the Premier League immediately.
