Tottenham ‘unlikely’ to win race for electric Premier League winger
After losing out to Juventus in the race for Randal Kolo Muani, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly at risk of being beaten by another Serie A club to the signing of an exciting young Premier League winger.
Spurs backed to test Manchester United’s resolve
It emerged last week after it became clear that Kolo Muani was heading to Juventus that Tottenham had turned their attention to Man Utd winger Alejandro Garnacho.
It was explained that the Lilywhites are aware that United need to sell some players to get some wiggle room with respect to PSR and were open to cashing in on the 20-year-old.
Ange Postecoglou‘s men were backed to test the Red Devils’ resolve with a €70m (£60m) offer for the Argentinean attacker.
Tottenham not likely to sign Alejandro Garnacho
Football Insider now reports that Spurs have been plotting to add a winger to the squad since last summer, with Garnacho being the latest target.
However, the outlet says that Spurs are ‘unlikely’ to sign the Manchester United star this month.
Even though Ruben Amorim’s side are said to be ready to listen to offers for the young winger, it is revealed that they would prefer to sell him to a club outside the Premier League.
Serie A club vying for Alejandro Garnacho’s signature
The report goes on to explain that United are ready to sacrifice Garnacho to address their PSR situation, but it would take a ‘huge sum’ to convince them to sell the player to a domestic rival.
It is asserted that Tottenham’s interest is likely to be ‘dismissed’ by United as the wide-man is also attracting interest from Italy.
Antonio Conte’s Napoli side have allegedly been keeping a close eye on the situation over Garnacho’s future.
