Predicted Tottenham XI to face Hoffenheim

Goalkeeper – Fraser Forster: Forster has had a lengthy spell on the sideline because of his illness, however, he is back and should be in goal on Thursday, as Kinsky is not allowed to play until the knockouts because he hasn’t been registered yet.

Right-back – Pedro Porro: The injury crisis continues to prevent Porro from getting any bit of rest as he remains the only fit right-back.

Centre-back – Radu Dragusin: Dragusin had a really poor outing last time out against Everton. He took a knock to his head, had it stitched and was hooked at half-time after a shambolic display at the back – he should be fit enough to start on Thursday.

Centre-back – Archie Gray: This is a toss-up between Gray and Davies as both players can play in this position. However, we will stick Gray in as Dragusin’s partner for Thursday.

Left-back – Ben Davies: Djed Spence will be handed a rest on Thursday, as he was not registered for the Europa League which should see Ben Davies move into the full-back role.

Pivot midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: We await an update on the fitness of Yves Bissouma and Bentancur two players who are sidelined but could make a return on Thursday if they are fit, then Bergvall might be moved to the bench.

Central midfielder – Pape Matar Sarr: Sarr’s performances in recent weeks have not been the greatest. There has been a drop which is not great given the state of the team – he should start here, hopefully, he finds a bit of form.

Central midfielder – James Maddison: Against Everton, Maddison got to play the full ninety minutes which is rare, he should get a start here as Dejan Kulusevski is in need of a rest.

Right midfielder – Mikey Moore: One of the only positives from the game against Everton, was the brief cameo from Mikey Moore when he was subbed on. He turned the game around and sparked the resurgence. If anything, he has forced himself into Thursday’s eleven.

Striker – Richarlison: Solanke is not expected to be back for at least three weeks, which means Richarlison’s minutes are not going to be managed. His first start should come on Thursday after he bagged a goal against his former side in the weekend.

Left midfielder – Heung-min Son: No Brennan Johnson, no Timo Werner and Kulusevski has played so many minutes in recent weeks. Thursday’s clash should see Son move to the right.
