Micky van de Ven boost for Spurs as insider reveals comeback timeline

0

Latest reports indicate that Micky van de Ven is edging closer to a Tottenham Hotspur return from his lengthy injury lay off.

A month of hope for Tottenham’s injury list

Tottenham Hotspur are heading into a crucial stage of the season, and January has arrived with some much-needed optimism surrounding the return of key players.

Among those expected to return this month are Micky van de Ven, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Cristian Romero, who has not featured for the club since the Chelsea defeat in December.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Romero had already resumed training with the team. The Argentine was joined by Rodrigo Bentancur, recovering from a head injury, and Radu Dragusin, who was spotted in training despite recently receiving stitches in the game against Everton.

Micky van de Ven poised for full training return

The good news does not stop there, as Tottenham Hotspur supporters have received some much-anticipated good news about Micky van de Ven, whose return to full training is now imminent.

Club insider Paul O Keefe confirmed the development through a tweet on X, providing hope to fans eagerly awaiting updates on the player’s progress. He stated: “In more positive news. The plan and hope is for Micky van de Ven to resume full training from next week.”

The timing of van de Ven’s recovery could not be better, as Postecoglou looks to stabilise a defence that has struggled in his absence. With Romero also returning to training, the prospect of their reunion in the backline is a significant boost.

Spurs’ mixed fortunes on the injury front

While the return of players like Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero is a relief for Tottenham, it does not completely alleviate the team’s injury woes.

In recent weeks, Yves Bissouma, Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke, and Brennan Johnson have all joined the injury list.

Earlier reports today, also suggest that Pape Matar Sarr has pulled out of training, adding further strain to the squad’s midfield resources.

Tottenham now have a total of seven players sidelined, with many of them expected to be out until early to late February.
