David Ornstein reveals Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou plan this week
David Ornstein reveals what Tottenham Hotspur are planning to do with Ange Postecoglou as speculation continues to mount over the Australian’s future at the North London club.
Tottenham hierarchy are showing faith in Ange Postecoglou
There is no doubt that any other Spurs manager during Daniel Levy‘s tenure would have long gone by now if he had a similar record to Ange Postecoglou.
However, reports indicate that the Lilywhites hierarchy are still not prepared to sack the Australian and retain hope that he will be able to turn things around.
Various outlets have indicated that Levy sympathises with the injury situation that Postecoglou has been dealing with over the last few months and is hopeful that things will improve dramatically once key players are back.
David Ornstein reveals Spurs’ plans amidst speculation
Ornstein has now become the latest journalist to suggest that Tottenham are not thinking about parting ways with their head coach right now.
In fact, The Athletic reporter claimed that Spurs are going to show faith in Postecoglou by backing him with a couple of signings before the transfer deadline.
Ornstein told NBC Sports: “They will look to the transfer market to support Ange Postecoglou this month, I believe. They could add further reinforcements in attack and defence. There are some resources available.
“PSR is not a problem at Tottenham, profitability and sustainability. It’s more the cash flow. But if they can do something on top of what they’ve already done with the goalkeeper, [Antonin] Kinsky, I think they will.”
Two more signings is the bare minimum requirement
Another centre-back and a versatile attacker is the bare minimum that Tottenham need before the February 3 deadline.
Left-back is another area where Postecoglou is short of options, but Tottenham may solve that issue by signing one versatile defender, who can play at left-back as well as in the heart of defence.
While Spurs are also short of quality in the middle of the park, Lucas Bergvall‘s impressive performances in a slightly deeper role of late may convince the club to wait until the summer to reassess the position.
