Tottenham player ratings vs Leicester – 2/10 for four senior players in abysmal defeat

0

The full-time whistle has sounded in North London, and it’s time for player ratings, with the Foxes taking all three points back to Leicester.

Throughout the ninety, we analysed each player’s individual performance, rating them on a scale of 1-10. Let’s take a look at how they got on.

Spurs’ player ratings

Antonin Kinsky: After a strong first-half showing, Kinsky failed to deal with a Leicester cross which Vardy subsequently tapped home. He was beaten by a sweet strike minutes later that gave Leicester the lead, and wasn’t really tested after that. 4.

Pedro Porro: Porro notched an assist in the first half after his fine cross found the head of Richarlison, who fired home. In the second half though, Porro started awfully and was partly to blame for both of the visitor’s goals. Moments later, Porro displayed complete and utter selfishness as the Spaniard chose to blast the ball into the side netting rather than square it to Gray for a golden opportunity. 3.

Radu Dragsuin: Just abysmal. 1.5.

Ben Davies: Davies was really disappointing defensively, and alongside Dragusin, the pair of them were a mess defensively today. They were at fault for both Leicester goals, whether it was not being able to clear a cross, or giving El Khannouss enough space to build an airport. 2.

Archie Gray: Gray continued to be the shining light through Tottenham’s misery as he put in yet another solid performance. He began the game at left-back and was great at sweeping up when necessary and even began causing problems for Leicester in the final third. In the second half, he was shifted into midfield and battled hard. Unfortunately, however, his efforts weren’t matched by the rest of the team as Spurs fell to an embarrassing defeat. 7.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Bentancur was really poor in possession today, getting caught out several times in the first half deep into Tottenham’s defensive third, and most notably early in the second, which inevitably led to Leicester taking the lead. 2.

Pape Sarr: Sarr, like the entirety of Tottenham’s midfield, was poor and unimaginative on the ball. It’s no secret that he was fresh off the back of an injury, but that doesn’t excuse how sloppy he was in possession, and in general. Spurs’ midfield were absolutely torn apart today, with Sarr and Bentancur to blame. 2.

Lucas Bergvall: Bergvall was quiet, and didn’t impact the game whatsoever. 3.

Dejan Kulusevski: Deki’s exhaustion was clear as day, as the Swede’s dip in form continued into today’s game. He was lethargic and lacked the drive and determination that we’ve seen from him so much this season, and struggled to have any real influence on the game. 2.

Richarlison: It was Richarlison‘s header that gave Tottenham the lead at half-time, as he latched onto a Porro cross and headed home delightfully. But the Brazilian was subbed for Moore as Ange looks to still manage his minutes – a decision that was met with boos by the Tottenham fans. 6.

Heung-min Son: Sonny started the match brightly, creating chance after chance from his left flank and even rattling the crossbar, but in the second period, he disappeared. After being moved centrally subject to Richarlison’s departure, Son struggled to get back into the game. 5.

Substitutes:

Sergio Reguilon: Reggy came on, but I’m not sure what impact Ange expected him to have. He was just average, both offensively and defensively. 4.

Mikey Moore: Mikey came on and tried to make things happen, but all his efforts were futile. His crosses were blocked or found no one, and he had a big chance to score but his attempt was saved. The offside flag spared his blushes anyway. 4.5.
