Luka Vuskovic outlines his bold Tottenham aim for 2025
Luka Vuskovic’s latest admission about his ambitions for the rest of the year will excite Tottenham supporters, with the centre-back setting his aims very high.
Luka Vuskovic’s performances have not gone unnoticed
Tottenham have had a number of great Croatian players over their recent history. Spurs fans are already getting excited that Vuskovic may be about to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Luka Modric and Vedran Corluka by becoming a star at N17.
The 17-year-old has hardly put a foot wrong during his loan spell at Belgian side Westerlo this season, showing the kind of maturity and composure that one rarely sees in someone so young.
Vuskovic is posting some incredible numbers this season, with the stats showing that no other centre-back in the Belgian top-flight is contributing as much in attack as the on-loan Spurs man.
Luka Vuskovic outlines ambition for rest of the year
Vuskovic will link up with the Tottenham squad for the first time this summer after the conclusion of his loan spell in Belgium.
It remains to see what the Lilywhites‘ plans are for the lanky defender, but the youngster is setting his aims very high, admitting that he is hoping to get a taste of Premier League football in 2025.
Vuskovic told Het Laatste Nieuws, (as relayed by Voetbal Primeur): “I hope to play in the Premier League this year. The Belgian competition is a good step. In terms of ‘workload’, we are not inferior to England, only the pace and the intensity there are higher.
“Speed is important. Not so much your maximum speed, that is mainly talent, but your explosiveness. I work on that every morning in the gym. My Croatian Personal Coach sends me my program every day via WhatsApp.”
Vuskovic might get a chance to impress in pre-season
Ange Postecoglou (assuming he is still at Tottenham by then) and his coaching staff would want to take a closer look at Vuskovic during pre-season, and that will be the centre-back’s time to shine.
If he can impress the Australian, there is no reason why he cannot immediately become a key first-team player for the club, with Postecoglou not shy of trusting young players.
However, the most likely scenario for the Hajduk Split academy graduate in the summer would be a loan move to an EFL club so that he can continue getting game time under his belt.
