Tottenham want Rangers striker who is having the season of his life
Tottenham Hotspur are working to complete a deal to sign a striker who recently netted against them in the Europa League.
Tottenham are currently without Dominic Solanke
Tottenham have been without Dominic Solanke since the North London derby earlier this month. His return is still some way off as Ange Postecoglou confirmed a few days ago that the £65m striker will be out for six weeks.
Solanke has been an important player for Spurs, registering 11 goals and six assists in all competitions. Since he picked up his injury, they have lost two Premier League matches, both to teams below them in the Premier League Table.
Richarlison’s return to the Tottenham first-team squad, however, has been a positive. The Brazilian has already scored twice in three starts this month. Although Spurs are still looking to sign a striker and are keeping an eye on a man who recently scored against them.
Tottenham want to sign Hamza Igamane
According to TBR Football, Tottenham are interested in Rangers striker Hamza Igamane. The 22-year-old, who joined the Scottish Premiership side for £1.7m last summer, is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Spurs scouts were in attendance to watch Igamane score a hat-trick against Hibernian and a goal against Aberdeen. The club were well aware of the Moroccan international prior to this, as he netted against Tottenham in a 1-1 draw in the Europa League last December.
Tottenham have been working on a deal to sign Igamane, although time is not on their side. Currently, Antonin Kinsky is the only player to have joined the club since the January transfer window opened.
Tottenham transfer target Hamza Igamane’s impressive stats
Rangers are having a tough season. They were narrowly defeated by Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final in a penalty shootout and trail their rivals in the Premiership by 10 points. However, Igamane is certainly not a player at fault for these failings.
He has scored nine goals in 20 league appearances and has four goals in the Europa League, which is more than Solanke and Heung-min-Son.
If Spurs are able to negotiate the right price, Igamane could become a very good squad player with the potential to one day play regularly for the first team.
